Assistant Regional Manager – Corporate Office – Orlando, FL

Job Summary:

The Assistant Regional Manager is responsible to the Regional Manager for assistance in the implementation of the goals of the properties in their portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Informs the Regional Manager, Vice President of Operations, or Regional Vice President of any significant problems.
  • Assists the Regional Manager with questions relating to required financial reports to the Senor Vice President, Regional Vice President, President and Owners.
  • Train Community Managers and other site staff as necessary on AP processing Daily, Monthly and Weekly Reports and RAM procedures.
  • Review Weekly Status Reports for accuracy prior to forwarding to Regional’s and Owners. Regional Manager MUST review prior to sending to owner.
  • Monitor delinquency reports weekly for status on rent payments, collections and evictions proceedings. Verify all information from site with backup paperwork.
  • Track and approve Bad Debt Write Off’s and corrections for EOM balance.
  • Monitor and review all other required reports on calendar to assure accuracy and timeliness of completion. Follow up with Administrative Assistant once a month to determine who is not submitting reports in a timely manner.
  • Track the marketing for all sites with occupancy at 95% or below and engage Marketing Department as needed. Work with the Regional and Community Manager or Site Marketing Specialist on marketing ideas.
  • Application approval for all residents who do not meet the RAM guidelines for occupancy as needed, when Regional Manager is unable to do so.
  • Sign routine EFM’s for employee changes and standard increases, as needed when Regional Manager is traveling.
  • Assist Regional Manager with resident calls and handle resident issues/concerns, keeping Regional Manager and other corporate personnel apprised.
  • Assist Regional with Quarterly Reports/Inspections, as needed.
  • Visits sites/portfolio as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel for the purpose of conducting regular property business.
  • Ability to lift and climb stairs, and ability to perform all job activities indoors and outdoors as required.
  • Must have good leadership skills, communication skills, and decision making abilities.
  • Strong initiative and able to prioritize, with good organizational skills and attention to detail, Strong follow-up and follow through.
  • Ability to train and motivate staff. Onsite and field experience a plus.
  • Timber Scan, Timberline, and RM experience.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel, previous accounting background, analytical and/or strong administrative skills a must.
  • Good knowledge of RAM’s policies, procedures, and reports including site level.
  • Previous experience in supervising people
  • Tax Credit Experience , HUD and/or Rural Development experience preferred.


The Assistant Regional Manager is accountable to the Regional Manager, Vice President and applicable government agencies for overall management operations of all assigned portfolio properties. Contact with the public and conducting relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the company. The Assistant Regional Manager will be called upon from time to time to participate with local community organizations and projects.
