Housekeeper – Sierra Vista – Denver, CO

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of apartment homes and common areas in an attractive condition in accordance with Royal American Management’s Policies and Procedures.  The Housekeeper reports directly to the Community Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a description of the major responsibilities of this position.  These job duties are subject to change according to department requirements.  This is a summary and is not meant to include all activities that may be required to successfully perform in this job.  Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English is required.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing the following duties in the kitchen area:

  • The Housekeeper will pull out the refrigerator, cleaning under, behind, and sides the unit.  Remove the grill and clean all sides and top.  Clean all gaskets, trays and drawers.
  • The Housekeeper will pull out the stove, cleaning under, behind and sides.  Clean drip pans and drawer.  Clean all residues from top, on oven, knobs, etc.  Put in new drip pan or broiler pan as needed.
  • The Housekeeper will clean the hood vent and replace the charcoal filter if necessary.
  • The Housekeeper will thoroughly clean the dishwasher, including all gaskets, sides, hinges, etc.
  • The Housekeeper will thoroughly clean all cabinets, including the inside, outside, grooves, hinges, etc.
  • The Housekeeper will clean and polish faucet handles of sink.  Remove hot and cold tops and clean with toothbrush if necessary.  Clean all areas of the sink.  Clean stainless sinks with Shelia Shine or similar product.
  • The Housekeeper will clean and wax floors, as well as, clean all baseboards.
  • The Housekeeper will wipe all dust and dirt from washer/dryer closet including the hook up outlet. Clean bi-fold doors and wipe dirt from door track.  Clean and free the pantry area of any dirt particles.
  • The Housekeeper will clean and dust all light fixtures, electrical outlets, and switch plates.
  • Clean and wipe down all shelving in pantry.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing the following duties in the living room area:

  • The Housekeeper will clean and dust all blinds.
  • The Housekeeper will clean and dust all ceiling fans, light fixtures, electrical outlets, and switch plates.
  • The Housekeeper will clean and dust, inside and out, the A/C closet and/or water heater closet.
  • The Housekeeper will clean all windows, frames, hardware and tracks.
  • The Housekeeper will clean the front door, inside and out.
  • The Housekeeper will thoroughly clean the front entrance.
  • The Housekeeper will clean all baseboards.
  • The Housekeeper will thoroughly clean the fireplace inside and out, if applicable.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing the following duties in the bathrooms:

  • The Housekeeper will clean and wipe the sink, tub and toilet, in its entirety (outside, etc.)
  • The Housekeeper will clean and polish sink and tub/shower fixtures and if necessary, remove hot and cold tops for cleaning.
  • The Housekeeper will wipe vanity cabinets and medicine cabinets inside and out.
  • The Housekeeper will clean all mirrors.
  • The Housekeeper will clean all baseboards.
  • The Housekeeper will wash and wax floors.
  • The Housekeeper will clean and dust all light bulbs, lights fixtures, electrical outlets, and switch plates.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing the following duties in the bedrooms:

  • The Housekeeper will clean all closet shelving in the bedrooms, to include doors and tracking.
  • The Housekeeper will vacuum or mop floors as appropriate and clean all baseboards.
  • The Housekeeper will clean and dust all blinds.
  • The Housekeeper will clean windows, frames and hardware.
  • The Housekeeper will clean and dust all light fixtures, electrical outlets, and switch plates.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing the following duties on the patio/screen porch (if applicable):

  • Clean patio or screen porch floors.
  • Clean ceiling fan/light fixture.
  • Remove all cobwebs/dirt dobbers, etc from walls, rails, and ceiling.
  • Clean outside storage closet (if applicable).
  • If screened, clean screen and wooden lattice trim.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing the following duties in the common areas (clubhouse, business center, community room, kitchen, bathrooms, etc):

  • Vacuum carpet and mop flooring daily.
  • Dust all furnishings daily.
  • Clean windows once per week or when necessary.  Dust blinds once per month.
  • Clean and dust light fixtures two times per month or when necessary.
  • Clean baseboards once per month.
  • Clean countertops, daily, in kitchen.
  • Clean sink area and faucets daily.
  • Clean and wipe down appliances as needed.
  • Empty trash in all areas daily.
  • Clean/mops floors in bathrooms daily.
  • Clean countertops, sinks, and fixtures daily.
  • Clean toilet inside and out daily.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing the following duties in the fitness center:

  • Vacuum/mop floors daily as applicable.
  • Wipe down fitness equipment at least once per week with sanitizing solution.
  • Clean mirrors daily or as needed.
  • Clean baseboards once per month.
  • If towels are provided, soiled ones should be washed and replaced daily.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing the following duties in the children’s play area (if provided):

  • Vacuum carpet /mop floors daily if applicable.
  • Clean glass daily as needed.
  • Straighten toys, books, etc.
  • Once per week wipe down larger toys such as tables, chairs, play kitchen, etc with sanitizing solution.
  • Clean baseboards once per week.
  • Report any broken toys or crayon marks to the manager.

The Housekeeper will perform any other duties as assigned by the Community Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager, Vice-President or President of Royal American Management, Inc.
